And even farther down the line . . . Fall 2014 will see the release of my YA debut, WINTERSPELL, a re-telling of the Nutcracker ballet in which 17-year-old Clara Stole must journey from corrupt 1899 New York City to the wintry kingdom of Cane to save her father from a mad faery queen. Gina Rosati (AURACLE, Roaring Book Press)
What's next? "I'm working on a historical/fantasy/speculative/sci-fi/romance - I've been doing a ton of research for this, so it will be a while before there's any news to share. Also, there's no sequel planned for Auracle, but I'll write a few short stories featuring Anna, Rei, Seth and Callie, and post them on my blog in 2013. He's a rich kid from across the bridge in Stony Bay, and she hails from a family of fishermen and housecleaners who keep the island's summer people happy. Gwen worries a life of cleaning houses will be her fate too, but just when it looks like she'll never escape her past—or the island—Gwen's dad gives her a tip: her wealthy, elderly employer is redoing her will this summer, and that could be Gwen's ticket to the good life. But what will it mean for Gwen’s now life? She's never had a home, never gone to school, and has gotten most of her meals from laundromat vending machines. Her dreams are haunted by memories she’d like to forget completely. But when Callie’s mom is finally arrested for kidnapping her, and Callie’s real dad whisks her back to what would have been her life, in a small town in Florida, Callie must find a way to leave the past behind. She must learn to be part of a family. And she must figure out how to keep real love when it won’t let her go."
