Book Love For L.K. Madigan

If you're following The Apocalypsies, you probably know we're a 2012 debut group of authors for children and young adults. We're following a tradition started by the 2009 Debs and continued by last year's Tenners and this year's Elevensies. This week a member of that original group, L.K. Madigan, posted her news about her stage IV pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to her liver.

To show their support for Lisa and to celebrate her work, the 2009 Debs are holding a massive giveaway-- 40 sets of FLASH BURNOUT and THE MERMAID'S MIRROR. Just leave a comment on their post about how you're sharing the love for Lisa's books--reading the books, checking them out from the library, adding them to your Goodreads shelf, posting a review, etc.

As Lisa said at the end of her post, "I was going to attempt eloquence, but I can't find any." I think that's how everyone feels when hearing news like this. So many people will be thinking about her, hoping the treatment works, sending well wishes and prayers, but we don't know what to say. All these writers, at a loss for words. So for now we'll read hers. There's the best way to make a writer's day better.

  1. I'm so so sorry to hear about Lisa and her cancer. So tragic. I'll go to my online library and request some of her books right now. I'll do reviews on my blog.

My heart and prayers go out to Lisa.
