BIO: Jessica Spotswood writes books about magic and kissing. She is repped by the awesome Jim McCarthy at Dystel & Goderich Literary Management. Jess has wanted to be an author since fourth grade, except for that time she went to grad school to be a dramaturg. She lives in a hipster neighborhood in Washington, DC with her playwright husband and a very cuddly cat named Monkey. Jess loves books, theatre, tea, cardamom cookies, the color pink, twirly dresses, and the sound of bells chiming the hour. She is frighteningly enthusiastic.
DEBUT: BORN WICKED: Book 1 of The Cahill Witch Chronicles (Putnam, Spring 2012)
Cate Cahill and her sisters are considered eccentric bluestockings--a little odd, a little unfashionable, and far too educated for their own good. The truth is more complicated; they're witches. And if their secret is discovered by the priests of the Brotherhood, it could mean an asylum, a prison ship--or an early grave.
